Look inside any ZIP instantly
On a phone or a locked-down work computer, opening a .zip can be a hassle. GroPDF's ZIP extractor opens the archive right in your browser: every file is listed with its size, images and PDFs get thumbnail previews, and text files show a readable snippet.
Download what you need
Tap the ποΈ button on any file to preview it full-size, or β¬ to save just that file. The Download all files button saves everything in the archive one after another. Nothing is uploaded β the whole extraction happens on your device, so it's safe for sensitive documents too.
Steps at a glance
- Upload your .zip file.
- Browse the file list β names and sizes are shown.
- Click any file to download it individually, or download all at once.
Why extract ZIPs with GroPDF?
On some devices β Chromebooks, locked-down work machines, phones β there's no convenient built-in unzip, or the built-in tool is buried. GroPDF gives you a clean file list in the browser with per-file downloads, so you can grab just the one document you need instead of extracting everything. And like everything here, the archive never leaves your device.
Common use cases
- Opening a ZIP of documents on a Chromebook or phone.
- Grabbing a single file out of a large archive without extracting all of it.
- Checking what's inside a ZIP before deciding what to keep.
- Extracting files on a work computer where you can't install software.
Things to know
Standard ZIP archives only β password-protected or unusually encoded ZIPs may not open. Very large archives (gigabytes) can strain browser memory; use desktop tools for those. The tool lists and extracts; it doesn't preview file contents beyond names.
Frequently asked questions
Can it open password-protected ZIPs?
No β encrypted archives aren't supported. You'll need desktop software for those.
What about RAR or 7z files?
Only ZIP format is supported. Convert other formats to ZIP first with a desktop archiver.
Is there a size limit?
No hard limit, but archives over a few hundred MB may be slow or fail on low-memory devices.
Are extracted files safe?
The tool only extracts; it doesn't execute anything. Still, don't open unexpected .exe or script files from archives you didn't trust in the first place.
